Free Off Piste Awareness Talk this Monday (18 Dec) in Val d’Isère!
HAT is teaming up with Shred Safe to do an Avalanche Talk in Arctic Juice & Cafe, Val d’Isère.
3 pm, Monday 18 December at Arctic Juice & Cafe (on the Snowfront by the Val Village liftpass office, opposite Mattis Intersport).
Our goal is to educate people about the world of off-piste riding in order to maximise fun while minimising risk.
As Shred Safe co-founder, Kene of The Echo reminds us: It’s bad enough to risk your own life when you go off piste. But as you aren’t alone out there (at least you shouldn’t be) your decisions affect more than just yourself. Everyone who’s been in Val d’Isère for a fair number of seasons has either been buried, knows someone who has been buried, or, sadly, knows at least one person who has died in an avalanche.
Henry will be presenting his famous ‘Ride Hard, Ride Safe’ Essentials Avalanche talk. It’s a lively multi-media presentation, packed with important information that could save your life if you ski/board off-piste! There will also be a few words from Jim Adlington from Planks Clothing, Rich Jones from TDC and Liam Luke from Leading Edge Ski School.
This Off-Piste Awareness Event is free, thanks to our amazing sponsors Shred Safe, Arctic Juice & Cafe and ORTOVOX! So if you’re in Val d’Isère next week, please come along, buy a drink and enjoy the talk! It will last about an hour and a half or so, and should be a great afternoon. We hope to see you there!
